Lee Davis and Ryan Eversley finish third in GX class in Rolex 24 at Daytona with help from Luna-C Clothing technology
January 29, 2013 (Daytona Beach, Fla.) - In their first time sharing a car in the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series, co-drivers Lee Davis and Ryan Eversley took the no. 38 Luna-C Porsche Cayman they shared with Eric Foss, Jeff Mosing and John Tecce to third place in the GX class at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
Davis's first Rolex Series start with his friend and driver coach Eversley would finish with his first podium position. Standing on hallowed ground in victory circle at Daytona International Speedway is a huge accomplishment for any driver, let alone a rookie making their first start in the world famous twenty-four hour race.
"The whole event was an incredible experience, and to finish on the podium and share it with my friend Ryan is incredible," said Davis. "Results like this don't come easy and don't come often, so I enjoyed every second of it. The race was so much fun - even when we had some mechanical problems overnight that made us lose second position, it was still a blast to drive this Porsche at Daytona."
Finishing third in the Rolex 24 at Daytona also meant that Eversley would stand in victory circle for the second straight day. In Friday's Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, Eversley also finished third in his no. 75 Compass 360 Honda Civic Si - netting himself two podiums in one weekend.
"It's an amazing feeling to get on the podium twice in one weekend at Daytona," said Eversley. "But to get to share one with my friend Lee help get him to his first Rolex Series weekend is also pretty special. We've been friends for a long time and he's worked on getting to this level for many years, and it all came together really well. We were also able to show people what Luna-C was all about, which was a pretty important goal of ours as well."
Facing warm conditions inside their no. 38 Luna-C Porsche Cayman as the Florida sun beat down during the long day as well as cold conditions in the pits as drivers waited for their next stint, Luna-C Clothing's cutting edge technologies kept them cooler in the day and warmer at night than their competitors clothes. The 2CoolShirt, which combines the innovative cooling systems of CoolShirt incorporated with the cutting-edge technologies coldblack® and energear™ kept both Davis and Eversley cool and energized as they spent up to three hours behind the wheel of the no. 38 Luna-C Porsche Cayman.
